Fertilizers, both basic and complex
Mineral fertilizers are classified as simple or complex based on the number of elements they contain.
Simple fertilizers have only one part (phosphorus or nitrogen), whereas complex fertilizers have two or more. The type of mineral fertilizer required is determined by the soil's condition. Sandstones are deficient in potassium and nitrogen, clay soils are deficient in iron and magnesium, and other soil types require zinc and copper.
Simple mineral fertilizers:
- Nitrogen fertilizers (ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate, grade B carbamide) aid in the growth of plants' terrestrial parts. Fertilizers are applied in a sequence of steps, following the instructions on the box.
- Phosphate fertilizers (both double and simple superphosphate) help to speed up flowering and fruit set. Fertilize in the early spring or late fall;
- Potash fertilizers (potassium salt, potassium chloride) improve plant disease tolerance and fruit shelf life. Potassium fertilizer must be mixed with phosphorus, nitrogen, and trace elements (copper, zinc, magnesium, iron and others).
Mineral fertilizers with a complex structure:
- Ammophos is a Greek word that means "ammophos" or "amm • diammofosk, a nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizer free of chlorine and nitrates that can be used on all types of fruit, berry, and vegetable crops
- Nitroammofosk, a granular fertilizer containing phosphorus, nitrogen, potassium, and trace elements (magnesium, calcium, iron, sulfur, zinc, and so on) for all plant classes.
- Potassium, nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur are all found in the fertilizer. Suitable for use on all types of soils and for all types of crops.
